The society holds an annual projected image exhibition and an annual print exhibition each year. Some years the society holds two of each type of exhibition.

Members can submit up to six entries in each of the Open and Nature sections of each exhibition. Points are awarded for each acceptance, honours and award. The points are aggregated toward a variety of annual trophies. Images previously accepted for exhibition in one these society exhibitions cannot be submitted again.

The Society Rules and Bylaws (revised Aug 2021) detail the requirements for the conduct of Society Exhibitions. Members should ensure they are familiar with these rules prior to entering images into Society Exhibitions.

Definitions

Members should make themselves familiar with the definitions for the categories of images which may be used in competitions/exhibitions. Definitions are outlined in the Rules and Bylaws and also accessed via the following link: DPS definitions

Submitting prints

Below is a summary of requirements, members should consult the Rules and Bylaws as linked above.

• Up to six prints per member in each category.
• Prints must have a title and the author’s name on the back, at the top, of the print.
• Prints must be mounted on a firm backing and have a mat.
• The maximum size of prints, including any mats and mounts is 510mm x 410mm.
• The minimum size of prints, including any mats and mounts is 230mm x 180mm.
• Prints must not be framed or under glass.

Submitting projected images

Below is a summary of requirements, members should consult the Rules and Bylaws as linked above.

• Up to 6 projected images in each category.
• Images must be: (NOTE: this is different from the Rules & Bylaws)
  • jpeg or jpg format
  • no longer than 3840 pixels on the horizontal
  • no higher than 2160 pixels on the vertical
  • no larger than 4MB.
• Images must be titled and the title on the entry MUST match the IMAGE FILE name.

• Images must be uploaded using the online submission form

Please note that only financial members of the society are eligible to enter competitions/exhibitions.
